About Kenny

Kenny Wong (born 1968) is a Hong Kong designer known for creating art toys and designer toys. He co-founded Brothersfree in 2000, created the Copperhead-18 series in 2005, and introduced the character Molly in 2006.  His works incorporate elements of Eastern and Western culture, nostalgia, and contemporary aesthetics. Subsequent characters include YuTong and Sam Sam. Since 2016, he has collaborated with Pop Mart on Molly-related products.

Early Work

His early works include the Copperhead-18 series, which features a retro steampunk mechanical style. He collaborated with Levi's on a T-shirt and jeans line. He has worked with various brands, including Square Enix (designing Xbox 360 game characters), Disney (designing a Mickey Mouse series, Coca-Cola, Samsung, Uniqlo, Canon, Sony (Taiwan), 7-Eleven (Taiwan), Fubon Bank (Taiwan), FamilyMart (Taiwan), Syntrend Creative Park (Taiwan), STAYREAL, Taobao (China), Standard Chartered Bank, Intime Group (China), Hot Toys, Threezero, How2work, and Rody. His creations span commercial, design, and artistic fields.

In 2016, Wong signed a licensing agreement with Pop Mart for Molly "blind box" series. The first "Molly Zodiac Series" sold out quickly on Tmall. Later, Wong deepened his collaboration with Pop Mart and engaged in cross-disciplinary collaborations and experimental exhibitions. By 2025, Space Molly Doll launched into space aboard the Ceres-1 rocket. Pop Mart's first "Collection Store" opened, displaying Molly items. "Shining Night" drone show at Hong Kong's Victoria Harbour. Pop Mart Global Landmark Store opened in Thailand, with a large Molly statue outside, Molly becomes the main character in Pop Mart.

Character Designs

Copperhead-18 (2006–present): Retro steampunk mechanical style character.

YuTong (2021–present): Character blending innocence with subtle melancholy.

Sam Sam (2019–present): Started with a scout outfit, evolving into diverse role-playing designs.
